Yesterday 29th June 2013 I received a call from my esteemed colleague, Hadrat Moulana Muhammad Umar Hayat Qadri,  Khatib Ghausia Masjid Huddersfield UK and President of Suffah Foundation about an article posted on the internet by a Salafi Wahabi. He said that someone wrote that Sayyiduna Ghawth al-Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah raise his status in Jannah) in his book; ‘Ghunniyat al-Talibin’ had condemned the Hanafis as a Murjiyah Sect and they will burn in the fire of Hell. Hadrat Moulana asked me if I had read this in Ghunniyah.  I said to Moulana Sahib that I cannot remember reading anything of this nature, however, I would look it up and report back to him the next day. After talking to Moulana I became very restless as this matter bothered me a great deal because it deals with my Master and Murshid, Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah raise his status in Jannah).  So I went to my library and took out Ghunniyah and studied it. This is what I found concerning the Murjiyah Sect:

Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam  writes:

Some of the followers of Abu-Hanifa No’man ibn Thabit are called Hanafiyah Murjiyah whose belief is that,  identifying the Prophets of Allah and testifying on all those things that came from Allah is called Eman. (Imam) Barhuti has mentioned this in his book ‘Kitab al-Shajarah’

Comment:

This Murjiyah Hanafiyyah Sect has got nothing to do with the Ahle Sunnah wa Jama’at Hanafi Madhab. This splinter sect follows the Furu’h (side issues) of the Hanafi Madhab and reject the its Usool (Principals). It is obvious that following the Furu’h and rejecting the Usool is certainly not Taqleed. A sincere Ahle Sunnah Hanafi Muqallid will follow both Furu’h and Usool. Since this is the ethics of Taqleed therefore, Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah sanctify his soul) condemned this splinter group as Murjiyah Hanafiyyah because they only follow the Furu’h of the Hanafi Madhab and reject the Usool. How can such a group be called Hanafi?. So the word Murjiyah was added to their name to identify and separate this splinter Sect who is a renegade and cut off from the mainstream Ahle Sunnat wa Jama’at Hanafi Madhab. Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah sanctify his soul) has indeed done a great favour on the Muslim Ummah to expose and separate this splinter group so that the Ummah does not get confused with them and be able to differentiate between the true Hanafi and the false one. Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah sanctify his soul)  himself clearly states in Ghunniyah;

و امّا الحنفية فهم بعض اصحاب ابي حنيفه نعمان بن ثابت

And Such Hanafi (Murjiyah) who are some of the followers of Imam Abu-Hanifah No’man b. Thabit

So it is clear from the above words of Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah sanctify his soul) who has sifted out a small renegade group who have broken away from Sayyiduna Imam Abu-Hanafa (may Allah be pleased with him) and formed their own cult. It is this cult that the great Ghawth is referring to and not the absolute illustrious Hanafi Madhab.  This cult has got nothing to do with the main stream Ahle Sunnah Hanafi Madhab because they agree with the Furu’h and differ with the Usool.

Take for example the writer of the article posted on the net who is a Salafi Wahabi. These Salafi Wahabis also call themselves Sunni Muslim. For that matter, the cursed Qadiyani Cult also regard themselves as Sunni Muslim. Both these cults are renegades of the Ahle Sunnah wa Jama’at. Presently the Tafdili cult who has raised their heads in the UK also call themselves Sunni Muslim but they are not, as their Usool (basic Principals) differs with the mainstream Ahle Sunnah wa Jama’at. Imam Jarullah Zamakshari is the author of the famous ‘Kash’shaf’ Tafsir of the Holy Qur’an calls himself a Hanafi while he was a certified Mo’tazalite scholar. Every Islamic Scholar is well aware that the author of Kash’shaf was a Mo’tazalite but yet he calls himself a Hanafi. What is the opinion of the Salafi who posted this fitna on the net about Zamakshari?

It is the embedded evil nature of the cursed Salafi Wahabi to stir up fitna and history is evedent of this reality. The great Hadith Master, Barkatur-Rasul fil Hind Imam-e-Muhaqqiq Abdul Haqq Muhaddith Dehlawi (may Allah sanctify his soul) was the first person to translate Ghunniyat al-Talibin from Arabic to the Farsi Language. He was a great Hanafi Muqallid. Refer to his translation and you will not find any such objection as posted by the Salafi Wahabi on the net. If there was any such problem or objection in Ghunniyah then this great authority of Islam would have certainly commented on it. It is an entrenched nature of the Salafi Wahabi to construe the truth and stir up discord of the words of the Imams, Ulama and Awliya of Islam.  This nothing surprising for them to do this as they always condemn the mainstream Ahle Sunnat wa Jama’at as mushriks and kafirs.

The august Mujaddid of Islam, Arife Billah A’la-Hadrat Imam Ahmad Raza Hanafi al-Qadiri (may Allah sanctify his soul) was a very staunch Hanafi Muqallid and a great authority and promoter of the Hanafi Madhab. Similarly A’la-Hadrat was also a strong and devout extinct Qadiri Sufi who did not tolerate a single word of objection against Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah sanctify his soul). He too, did not make any comments on the words of the great Ghawth (may Allah sanctify his soul) as found in his Ghuniyyah. Ghunniyah was written some 800 years ago and ever since not a single Islamic Scholar has objected to its contents and or views. It is obvious that if the Hanafi Muqallid Imams and scholars found such a detrimental statement against the Hanafi Madhab, they would have surely commented or refuted it. But in history no scholar has ever brought this up.  This is so because it is obvious that the matter is clear and there are no objections to it. But 800 years later the evil Salafi Wahabi suddenly emerges with this fabricated objection. They certainly have hidden agendas to create discord amongst the Sunni Muslim, therefore, they have posted such baseless and absurd comments on the net. They are well aware that the majority Sunni Muslim Love and revere both personalities; Sayyiduna Imam al-A’zam Abu-Hanifah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam, (may Allah sanctify his soul) so the evil intensions are to create a split in the Sunni Muslim by posting such concocted views on the net.

The Salafi Wahabi are Ghayr Muqallids (do not follow any one of the four Imams of jurisprudence) therefore, their hate for them forces them to always find means and ways to accuse them of baseless things. Let alone accuse them, the Salafi Wahabis have passed kufr fatwas on Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam (may Allah raise his status in Jannah), Shaykh al-Akbar Muhiyy al-Deen ibn al-Arabi (may Allah sanctify his soul) and many Awliya Allah.

May Allah (Glorified is He) save the Emaan of the Muslim Ummah from the discord and evil of the Salafi Wahabi. Ameen

Almighty Allah (Glorified is He)  and His beloved Rasul (Salaams and Salutations upon him)  Knows best
